Walking to GEA
My UT computer engineering class is being held in GEA, the building that houses the Department of Human Ecology (I'm linking to LSU's page rather than UT's because the LSU page is much better and has a history of how Home Economics became Human Ecology.) It's quite entertaining to walk around the building. The HE people have a bunch of displays in the hallways. I noticed last semester that someone at UT decided to mix-it-up a bit and a few computer engineering classes were meeting out in various building usually devoted to humanities instruction.
GEA is a great building. I made a photo gallery of the more interesting buildings and such that I see as I walk to GEA for class twice a week. The BUR building in particular has some interesting brickwork that give it a unique feel. I also wonder about the apparent soot on the SHC building. Industrial revolution?
