Cows in Sweatshops
Sour Grapes Over Milk Labeling: what I don't understand is why the defending parties are not framing this as a case similar to when consumers decide they want to buy clothes that are not made in foreign sweatshops? When we see "Made in the U.S.A." on a label, it does not follow that the trousers are any better than those made in Taiwan. In the same way, from a final product point-of-view, rBST might make no difference. But it certainly sounds like it extracts a significant penalty for the cows involved in the production. People should be allowed to make a choice to support production facilities that don't penalize the cows so.
